Inu Yasha rambling

aeanagwenCan I just say how much I like seeing a good mindfuck? It makes my fingers itch like nothing else. ("It makes my fingers itch," means that it really, really makes me want to write fanfiction on it.)
Last night's episode was a big Kohaku one--about hos he lost his memories in part because he WANTED to lose his memories, and Naraku simply granted that. Naraku had just let Kohaku out where he'd run into Inu Yasha-tachi, then set things up so that Kohaku would be alone with Kagome, whom he was then ordered to kill. Being a good guy at heart, he resisted this compulsion, and was distracted from the internal battle by the arrival of the rescuing committee, from whom he was taken by Kagura.
The episode ends with Kohaku up on his knees in front of Naraku, head down, not reacting to anything the latter says about disobeying orders, having had his memories taken because he wished it so, etc. Naraku reaches forward and touches his forehead, and asks if he'd like to remember, then, at which point Kohaku spasm and starts moaning, clutching at his head and whimpering denials until Naraku takes the memories away again, leaving Kohaku back at blank slate status.
The Angst Whore in me absolutely loved it. Gah. Hypnotism, brainwashing, all that sort of thing--loveloveLOVE, and it's even better if the victim is still partially aware beneath it all. That sort of thing ranks up there with fever dreams, delirium, and interesting mental disorders. Yay for shameless villain love.
^^; My sister tells me I'm messed up. *mumbles about how just because her favorite scene in The Lion King is Scar killing Mufasa, that doesn't mean anything, it's not HER fault that, "Long live the king," is the coolest line in the movie and that Scar is her favorite Disney villain ever*
EDIT: Kohaku is also referred to by Kagura as Naraku's 'kept boy'. XD For when fantasies about Kikyou just aren't enough, I suppose. *waits to be stoned*
